Since last month, Dobby has to be checked for blood parasites. The blood test result shows his platelet level is very low, only 80, where the normal count is 200-300.
But luckily only one type of parasite is detected by the rapid test kit. Yes, he had to be tested with two types of rapid test kit. And it’s not cheap.
From the test results, the vet said that Dobby has to undergo a quarantine apart from other dogs, and he has to keep taking antibiotics and blood supplements for the next two weeks. But they said Dobby doesn’t have to go to the vet again for the next medical check up if only he is still active and has a good appetite.
